Recycling efforts at the galleria
Since we receive such a large amount of stock every day here at the galleria, we do unfortunately produce a lot of waste each year. However, we are very keen to reduce the impact of this on the environment, and are proud to announce that in 2006 we recycled an impressive 184 tonnes of cardboard - over 20% of the waste produced by the centre.
From the start of 2007 we've introduced recycling efforts for plastic, glass and paper, which will further reduce the amount of waste that gets sent to landfill sites.
Oxfam Gift Bank - this has ceased to operate in the galleria. We are reviewing the idea of an external Oxfam Gift Bank during 2008 where you can continue to recycle your:
- Books
- Vinyl records
- CDs (pre-recorded & boxed only)
- DVDs (pre-recorded & boxed only)
- Videos (pre-recorded & boxed only).
